Khagan Kugo Seison is a French musician, actor and director who started to learn shakuhachi in 2006 with Daniel Seisoku LIFERMANN in Paris as a member of the French association « La Voie du Bambou ». He follow teaching of FUKUDA Tehurisa, founder of the ensemble and school HIJIRI KAI since 2007 in France and in Tokyo. In July 2016 he received his jun shihan title and the name Seison from FUKUDA Teruhisa, in december 2023 he awarded him with the dai shihan license (great master). Practicing Zen for 46 years as a disciple of master Taisen Deshimaru, from whom he received ordinations in 1978 and 1981, and being a stage artist and director of Cie K, he aspires to achieve by the practice of shakuhachi, the fusion of dimensions spiritual, meditative and artistic of the Buddha's path. In his teaching he transmits as much the meditative practice of the instrument as the scenic practice (traditional pieces and improvisations).
