Hori Itsukyō (Hori Yujirō) Born on March 5, 1897 in Yamagata Prefecture. He studied Itsudō-ha Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Yoshikawa Shūdō, Katō Itsukō, Kawamoto Itsudō, and Ikeda Itsuren. He started teaching in 1946. He was a member of Itsuren-kai. He performed and taught shakuhachi for more than 50 years.
